How many times should you take it?
Ideally, once more than you already have. Each retake is about $304 and weeks of waiting, and it’s almost always the same one or two things holding a score back — usually a specific weakness in Writing or Speaking, which CELPIP grades but never explains. How many times can you take CELPIP?
There is no limit — you can take CELPIP as many times as you want. You simply register and pay the test fee for each sitting. Most people retake it because their Writing or Speaking score came back lower than the CLB level they need.
Is there a waiting period between CELPIP attempts?

How much does it cost to retake CELPIP?

How long are CELPIP results valid?
CELPIP results are valid for two years from the test date for most Canadian immigration and regulatory uses. Time your application so your score doesn't expire mid-process — if it lapses, you'll have to retake the test.
How soon can I rebook CELPIP after a test?
You can register for another sitting right away — you don't need to wait for your previous results. Results are usually available within a few business days, so many people book their next date and cancel it if the score they need comes through.
Does immigration see all my CELPIP attempts?
